If your “test subjects” are into tanning at all, you're probably looking to buy Melanotan 2.

This is the real deal: it helps people get darker skin more easily because it increases melanin in the skin. The result is easier tanning, increased skin protection, and a reduced risk of sunburn. And if you suffer from erythropoietic protoporphyria, Melanotan can help you reduce your sensitivity to sunlight and diminish the pain caused by that light.

And that's not all: people that use Melanotan say that they feel more confident and more attractive.

If that sounds like something you'd like to “research”, here's everything you need to know about how to buy Melanotan 2, and where to how to find the best vendor to sell it.

What is Melanotan 2?

Very briefly, Melanotan is a synthetic peptide. It has a chemical structure very similar to a peptide hormone that is naturally produced in, and secreted by, your pituitary gland: alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) [1].

This peptide, α-MSH, has several roles and functions. It helps regulate your body by binding to a particular family of receptors called melanocortin receptors [2].

One of these receptors, MC-1R, upregulates the production of melanin in your body. Melanin is the pigment substance that makes your skin darker and is produced in specialized cells throughout your skin called melanocytes. Increasing the amount of melanin means that your skin gets darker and it protects better against the sunlight.

So, because Melanotan mimics α-MSH, it has the same effect: more melanin, and better tanning from the sun or from tanning beds.

But there are a number of additional effects that Melanotan has via the melanocortin receptors. For example, the third melanocortin receptor, MC-3R, is involved in appetite regulation. That's why Melanotan has been found to have the effect of regulating (and decreasing) appetite.

Also, the fourth melanocortin receptor (MC-4R) is involved in the regulation of sexual activity, which is why Melanotan 2 has been found to have a significant effect on increasing libido and improving erectile function. So Melanotan is a pretty versatile peptide

Melanotan 1 vs. Melanotan 2

There are two types of Melanotan: type 1 and type 2. They are often called by a variety of additional names: Melanotan I and II, or MT-1 and MT-2, respectively.

What is the difference?

Basically, they differ in their chemical structure. MT-1 is a straight, longer peptide whereas MT-2 is a shorter, circular peptide. That difference in shape and structure means that they bind differently to the melanocortin receptors and have slightly different effects.

Melanotan I

  • Darkens skin without the sun
  • Used as a prescription medication in the US and EU for erythropoietic protoporphyria
  • Has a shorter half-life than Melanotan II, which means that the effects don't last as long
  • Typically more expensive than Melanotan II
  • Typically less popular than Melanotan II

Melanotan II

  • Darkens skin with sun exposure
  • Also affects libido and appetite
  • Has a longer half-life than Melanotan I, which means that the effects last longer
  • Not a prescription medication
  • Typically less expensive than Melanotan I
  • Typically more popular than Melanotan II

Benefits of Melanotan 2

Melanotan has been found to have a ton of great effects. Here are some of them:

  • Tanning skin. Not only does Melanotan dosage help people tan easier, but it's also been found to make them less likely to burn when they're exposed to the sun [3]. It even may help protect against sun damage and reduce the risk of skin cancer [4, 5].
  • Reducing appetite. Research has found that Melanotan dosage can reduce hunger and change food preferences towards less fatty foods [6]. That's why it helps people get rid of fat. Some suggest that it could become a useful medication in the fight against obesity [7, 8].
  • Regulating blood sugar. It turns out that melanocortin receptors are involved in the process of regulating blood sugar. This is also part of the reason that Melanotan dosage is useful in burning fat. But it also may one day be useful for diabetics in regulating blood sugar [9].
  • Improving addictive behaviors. Researchers have found that MT-2 may play a role in reducing impulsive behaviors, including engaging in addictive behaviors [10]. For example, one study in mice found that alcohol-addicted mice engaged in fewer binge-drinking behaviors when they took Melanotan injections [10]. It's possible that, one day, Melanotan dosage will be used to help addicts overcome their addictions.
  • Erectile function and libido. Besides tanning, this is one of the most well-studied effects of Melanotan injections: increased sexual function. Research has consistently found that Melanotan leads to improved erectile function in men [11, 12].

Together these Melanotan benefits are quite impressive. They're the reason that people around the world are interested in buying Melanotan.

Buying Melanotan Online vs. Prescription?

So where should you buy it?

Buy Melanotan I from a pharmacy?

Well, first, you should know that you can get it as a prescription medication from the pharmacy.

In particular, MT-1, which is sold under the trade name “Scenesse” (and which is also called by its generic name “Afamelanotide”) is available as a prescription medication in the US, Europe, and several other countries for people with a diagnosis of erythropoietic protoporphyria.

Erythropoietic protoporphyria is a condition in which an individual has an extreme sensitivity to sunlight. For these people, normal sun exposure can be really painful. Afamelanotide (Melanotan 1) helps these people increase the melanin in their skin, which reduces the pain they feel from sunlight.

So, if you have a diagnosis of erythropoietic protoporphyria, you might be able to buy Melanotan with a prescription.

Buy Melanotan online?

But if you don't have an erythropoietic protoporphyria diagnosis, you can still buy Melanotan online—as long as you're using it for research. And even if you do have that diagnosis, it's usually still cheaper to buy Melanotan online vs. in the pharmacy.

We'll go into detail about the best place to buy Melanotan online a bit later on in this article. But the question you might be asking yourself now is…

Is Melanotan legal to buy online?

In most countries, yes.

First, of course, laws differ by country, so you need to check the laws and regulations where you are to know for sure how it is regulated there.

But, in most places, Melanotan 2 is not a prescription medication and is also not a controlled substance. That means that it's typically legal to export, import, buy, and use for research purposes. So if you're a researcher and planning to use Melanotan in your research, it's absolutely legal in many countries to do that.

However, it's typically not legal for local stores to sell. That's why you probably won't find it at your local supplement store. If you're looking to try out Melanotan, you're going to have to buy it online.

How Much Does Melanotan 2 Cost?

Okay, so it has a lot of great effects… but it must be expensive. How much does Melanotan 2 cost?

The prices range.

On the low end of the scale, the Melanotan 2 price can be as little as about $50 US for 10 mg. That gets you about 20 standard doses and works out to about $2.50 per dose. You can find cheaper sticker prices out there, but you're probably not getting pure stuff at that point; you're probably getting stuff with fillers and additives.

From there, you can find Melanotan 2 prices go up quite a bit and can get a lot more expensive—up to $100 ish per 10 mg. It can be even more expensive in pharmacies.

How to Buy Melanotan 2 Online | 2021 Guide

It's super simple to buy Melanotan 2 online.

Find your vendor

First, you want to find the best vendor for you. While there are lots of places selling Melanotan online, not all of them are legitimate vendors selling a pure product. So your first step is to find someone who's reliable.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself to find a good vendor:

Find your vendor

First, you want to find the best vendor for you. While there are lots of places selling Melanotan online, not all of them are legitimate vendors selling a pure product. So your first step is to find someone who's reliable.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself to find a good vendor:

  • Do they have rigorous product testing? A legitimate vendor will not just tell you where their peptides come from, but also how they can prove their purity. Look for lab analysis results posted publicly. This signals that the vendor is taking the purity of their product seriously.
  • What are their reviews like? A solid vendor that's been around a while will have numerous 3rd party reviews posted online. Have a quick look around the web—are others satisfied with their experience? If the vendor has a good track record with other people, they'll probably be okay for you too.
  • Are their transactions secure? You don't want your payment info stolen. Look for vendors that are using the latest in secure payment technology.
  • Is there a return/refund policy? You want to make sure that there is some way for the vendor to fix the order if something went wrong. Look for a clear policy on how the vendor says they will remedy the situation if there's a problem with your order.

Finally, you'll want to make sure that they have some sort of product disclaimer. For example, look for something like this:

“THIS PRODUCT IS INTENDED AS A RESEARCH CHEMICAL ONLY. This designation allows the use of research chemicals strictly for in vitro testing and laboratory experimentation only.

All product information available on this website is for educational purposes only. Bodily introduction of any kind into humans or animals is strictly forbidden by law.

This product should be handled by licensed, qualified professionals. This product is not a drug, food or cosmetic and may not be misbranded, misused or mislabeled as a drug, food or cosmetic.”

Disclaimers like this demonstrate that the vendor is taking their legal responsibilities seriously.
